Editorial Policy
Readers trust health information only when they know how it is produced. This page explains the standards behind every article on Zone Health.
Our principles
- Accuracy first. We base content on established clinical guidelines, systematic reviews and recognised public health authorities.
- Clarity. We use plain language and explain medical terms, so that readers without medical training can follow.
- Balance. We describe benefits, risks and alternatives, and are honest about uncertainty and limits of evidence.
- No sensationalism. We avoid miracle cures, fear tactics and unsupported claims.
- Independence. Advertising does not influence what we write, and we do not accept payment to feature or favour products or treatments in our articles.
How articles are created
- Topic selection based on reader interest and public health importance
- Research using guidelines from bodies such as national health services, major medical societies and peer-reviewed literature
- Drafting in plain English with a clear structure: what it is, causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, prevention and when to seek help
- Review for accuracy, clarity, tone and safety
- Publication with an appropriate medical disclaimer
Updates and corrections
Medical knowledge evolves. We review articles periodically and update them when guidance changes. If you find a mistake or out-of-date information, please tell us at [email protected]. We correct verified errors promptly.
Use of sources
We prefer primary guidelines and high-quality evidence over press coverage, and we do not copy text from other publications.
Advertising
The site is supported by advertising. Ads are clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial content. Their presence is not an endorsement.
Not medical advice
Our content is for education and is not a replacement for professional care. See our Medical Disclaimer.
